Staff Networks have been set up across the Trust to support this ambition, including our DisAbility Staff Network, LGBT+ Staff and Allies Network, PHU Women’s Network and Race Equality Network.
We want to ensure all staff feel valued and are treated with dignity and respect in an inclusive environment which acknowledges difference and celebrates diversity.
We have been a partner of the NHS Employers Diversity and Inclusion programme, supporting trusts to develop their equality performance, since June 2018. We began year two of the programme in June 2019 and are proud that our application was assessed as the highest scoring out of over 40 participating organisations. As a result, we were invited to write a blog '' that captured and shared our journey.
We are also delighted to partner with Choices College. It is incredibly important to us that we support members of the community and young people with learning difficulties and one way we can do this is by providing supported internships where they can learn new skills and thrive in a working environment.

We want to ensure that PHU is a place where everyone feels included, treated with respect and that diversity is celebrated.
The new strategy builds upon what we have already achieved and pledges to address inequalities for our people, patients and communities with real purpose and action.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who shared their ideas and feedback with us to help shape the strategy.
